Deathwish

An aptly-named stamina project from this past summer. The Deathwish Project encompasses the entirety of the Lame Jokes R Us universe, and amazingly enough I actually finished this one! Which was cool!
I began this one with really shitty, awful drawings of the characters, but the art slowly progressed to being actual high-quality work (albeit missing an eye) so in the end I had to redo the first two pairs I had drawn, lol. Tak and Nero are still a little worse for the wear, but it is what it is.

Before you ask, the missing eye was purely to speed up the process. I struggle drawing the Other Eye and so I left them out so I would be more likely to complete the project.
Since this, my style has shifted; I draw eyes differently and differentiate a lot of facial features much more dramatically, so it's a little weird for me to look at this lmao. I'm still pretty pleased with it though, if only because everyone is in one place.

For those not familiar, Lame Jokes R Us is a massive universe of mine that encompasses somewhere around seven individual stories. At this point, I've worked on consolidating them enough that there is one True Storyline and a bunch of stories that just happen in the same universe. I need to come up with differing terminology to describe it, but it is what it is.
The listing above is not separated by story very accurately. Instead, each pair of characters is relevant (these were drawn in groups of six on the paper). Thankfully they all have names written in, which is rad - though Cinnamon's name was cut off lol.


Generally, however:
Dennis and Cartel are the main duo of Nightmare Knights. They fight "killer nightmares" - the name of the Knights is coincidental.
Metternich and Sam are two of the main characters of the True Storyline, and the original two characters of the entire universe.
Tak and Nero are two demons that gets stranded in NYC, a part of the original story that has since expanded.

Ian, Alex, Jam, and Jelly are all velveteen kids who are yanked from the Velvet world and rescued by Partridge.
Taylor and Jake are two velveteens that are captured and rehabilitated by the Knights.

Sully and Jackson (below) are from 1926. Sully and Jersey are two of the main characters of the Main Storyline, with Jersey as the "true" leading character.
Saunders is Sully's mentor, and Jackson becomes his boyfriend.
Vincent and Cameron are two time-traveling assholes that fuck a lot of shit up. They are counterparts and Vince desperately needs to kill Cam.

Ceru and Magenta are sibling helldragons; Ceru is one of the trio of demons (along with Tak and Nero) who become stranded in NYC.
Ryan and Jin-Ka are two minor characters and Magenta's friends.
Pendy and Garnet are two helldragons and are a minor characters in the Nightmare Knights storyline.

Sinclair is a bit of a free-floater; Lyllerion is the prince of the Netherworld and a minor character in the Netherworld arcs.
Natalie is Dennis' girlfriend; Darcy, Toby, and Cinnamon are the future kids of the main characters in Nightmare Knights.

Leon and Dustin are the two main antagonists in the True Storyline, both kidnapped and tortured by Angelica.
Espie is an Angelica agent as well, along with Partridge (below), which is a recent development.
Brooks takes in Dennis, and Lyen (below) is Sam's father.

Steve is a mailman.
Chalice is one of the four black helldragons, and is a minor character in Nightmare Knights.
